What is Life Coaching?
As a coach, I see myself as a personal trainer for the mind. My role is to help clients identify and articulate patterns of thinking that prevent them from achieving their goals.
I will never dictate how and what you should do. My objective is to help you uncover patterns of thought that are causing you pain or making you feel stuck.
Through a process of inquiry and questioning, my job is to assist and facilitate the client in getting clarity about the direction they wish to take in their relationships or careers.
Does Coaching Really Work Over the Phone?
In short, Yes! I have been trained in how to listen to the breathing of the clients as they are speaking. Coaches know when the pauses and hesitations in conversation mean something. They pick up on the inflections in voice and the way things are expressed. They are experts in communicating, and they know how to help someone get through a difficult conversation. Coaches are able to help clients move through a conversation or conflict quickly and effectively.
Some clients may be embarrassed to seek face to face counseling. Phone coaching allows people to feel more secure and anonymous to the coach. They can focus more on their interaction with their partner, than on their interaction with the coach.
Phone Coaching is also more convenient.
Sometimes it is difficult to find a time to get both people to go to an office for coaching. Phone coaching can take place anywhere. No need to find a sitter for the kids, no need to drive through traffic–a phone coaching session is a convenient alternative for busy people.
Coaching sessions are conducted on the phone and or by email. Sessions are focused and dynamic rather than chatty. Homework is practical, insightful and always fun. Programs can be individual or group oriented.
